Too Tall
and the Guilty Lineup
This was the last show
Too Tall and the Guilty Lineup would be doing for several months at least.
School starting for most of the members and all that. And it did not dissapoint
as usual. One of the things about shooting this show that I noticed is
the father son lineup. Big Al was once again helping out on Bass duty
since the regular bassist was already gone (school started earlier). Getting
Too Tall and Big Al aligned in the same shot you can see em more often
than not working in perfect unison. Guitars are perpindicular, the bend
of the knee, the stature, all of it. It's fun to watch for sure.
They managed to get Terry Green up and play the bass for a song. I've
never seen Terry play the bass ever. In the 14 years or so I've known
the guy I've only seen him play guitar. So that was kind of neat and I
had to get a couple of shots of it.
Another highlight I had
to get pics of is a friend of the band I think his name is Brian, you
can't miss the guy he yells louder than anyone and usually something about
how sexy the drummer is. Anyway at some point he got up and did this little
dance and I was lucky enough to be able to get some quick shots of this
big farmboy looking guy dancing like, well you decide what kind of dance
it could be.
Overall the night didn't
produce any album cover shots or great art pic but that's ok. I had fun
and mostly I went just to hear these guys play.
Oh one final note, I was
sitting talking to a local performer who has been around the music scene
for a long time. We sat there and watched the Guilty Lineup do their set
and he leaned over to me and said.Rock N Roll is alive and is coming back.
He pointed to the stage and said those kids get it, and most of these
(pointing to the audience) are kids and they... and then he got distracted
by someone coming up to say hello. But I think I understood what he meant.
Real music is still being made and by people of an age that hasn't had
much opportunity to hear good music on the radio thanks to souless corporations
like Clearchannel. And there are young people out there who show up to
appreciate it and support it.
