The Soundtrack
Of Our Lives
The Meridian has been giving March
Madness a well deserved name this month by booking bands like crazy and
when they run out of days of the month to schedule shows they just pack
em in on one night. This show featured 6 bands on 2 stages. The main stage's
big names were The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Kings of Leon. Admittedly
I was not terribly familiar with either band though the names were intrigueing.
So with camera in tow I went to the show. Wasn't sure what to think of
TSOOL at first, something nostalgic tugged at my memory the music was
modernish but the feel of the performance was late 60's or they could
have been a band from the early seventies, if not in style of music but
in mannerism and look. Overall they grew on me and by the end of the show
I was not dissapointed. One thing that set them above, in my opinion,
even the Kings of Leon is that the lead singer has stage presence, he
even leaped off the stage to the barrier thing and sang part of a song
there, while shaking hands and whatnot. This was no small feat cause the
guy is big or at least his belly is. The rock n roll lifestyle has been
bery bery good to him..
The only thing that really sucked
about shooting these guys was it was very crowded and until the last song
or so the lighting was no very good. So I got more blurred shots than
I'd like to think about. And what few good ones I got weren't "great"
in my opinion. Oh well I had a good time.
