The Riverboat Gamblers

Usually when I post photos of a band it's because I liked the photos somewhat or I just had to because they were they featured artist that night. Riverboat Gamblers is an exception to that rule. The were an opener for Rollins Band, which is not a bad thing since I knew that if Rollins had them on tour they couldn't be lackluster or slackers, it's just not him to associate himself with people that don't put their all into something. True to my predictions they weren't slackers. On the other hand of the 30 minute set the lead singer spent maybe 5 of those actually on the stage. He was running the pit, standing on the bars on barstools in the middle of the audience. Once he even leaped straight out into the audience and worked his hundred or so foot mic cord to it's limit, performing in the audience somewhere. From a live music lover standpoint, AWESOME! From my photography standpoint, this is gonna suck. Even when he was on stage he was moving so much and the lights were dim enough that getting focus and getting a non blurred shot became an insurmountable quests. Now I can't tell you all this and say, hey pictures were pretty much impossible without maybe showing some of the "better" pics to prove my point.

So I give you the Riverboat Gamblers heroes to usually bored concert goers and scourge of photographers everywhere.

I wished lighting would have been good for this. He's holding his mic up for the guitarist to sing in as well.
