Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers
Finally after too long a wait, Roger Clyne
and the Peacemakers do a show in Houston. And to add a cherry to that
they did an in-store at Cactus before the main show. It just doesn't get
much better than that. Well if they had played at a place with better
acoustics than the Firehouse that would have been better. But other than
that I'm happy as hell. They even say they plan on playing Texas a lot
more often in the future. Which means I'm going to start working on they
guys at Meridian to book them if we can. I'd love to see 500 or 700 people
all singing Mexico in that venue.
We took the boys to the Cactus show and Ben
danced and tried to sing along. Then after the show he took the CD up
to PH and Roger and handed it to them to get signed. So now my 2 year
old has his first autographed CD. I think he's off to a great start. Image
3831 or so is him getting his autographs. 3829 is Ben and PH playing marbles
on the stage.. I kid you not.
I shot the show in ISO 1600 with all 3 lenses
I was using this night. I had borrowed J's 16-35mm L lens. I think I like
it enough to start saving up to buy one of my own. It performed really
well. The ultra wide everyone on stage in frame are from that lens. The
1600 ISO is a bit more grainy than I'd really like but I get less blur
so it's a trade off. Of course I did not use flash but I never do at shows.
I shot quite a few pics and I picked about 50 something pretty much random
to post. I didn't edit or clean them up since there are so many and quite
frankly I was tired when I got home. They are compressed to 50% quality
and roughly 600pixels. So they lose a lot in the translation. Sorry. But
posting them higher quality and less compressed would kill my storage
and bandwidth at this time. Maybe in the future I'll post em in better
quality. If you are interested in having a certain pic higher quality
email me. I may be willing to send you a higher rez version.. maybe.
