LCD Soundsystem

and.. ??? opening

I forgot the name of the first band that played. My bad. I will remember that they only had 4 red gel spots so shooting was a pain. And they had more cables run than I've ever seen on a stage ever. All those electronics I guess. Theramins and well instruments that I don't even know the names of. The other thing I'll remember is the singer who kept his.. uhm.. not a cow bell but I think it's called a Chatterbox tucked into the front of his pants. img 3014 shows him banging on it while it's sticking out of his pants.. Ok that's kinda interesting but what was even more interesting was he had to unbutton his pants to fit it I guess.. and in the middle of a song his pants fell down, revealing his boxer shorts. Like a true pro though he finished his song before reaching down and grabbing his pants. I couldn't get a good pic of it though. At one point the only light on stage was a strobe light.. ever try to shoot in time with a strobe? Much less try to light balance that kind of shot? Img 3044 is an example of one that almost worked.

Next up was LCD Soundsystem. I think they could have toured with Scissor Sisters just fine. I liked it and it was pretty damned danceable if you dance. I couldn't get to many pics really since people were dancing around a lot and they had so much stuff on the stage that there was only the lead singer who was unobstructed for the most part. Plus he had decent lighting, hence several shots of him. The rest of the band was just to hard to get anything good. I gave up after 20 minutes and just watched the show.
