Hellacopters How to start a review of this show, hmm, ok Hellacopters
rock. My first thought was old style american rock n roll. The kind
with with balls, and melody and well pardon the pun Rock Solid. The
stuff like the Stooges or early Alice Cooper maybe even Roky Erickson.
You know, stripped down to it's essence rock. Then I find out they
are from Sweden, funny how you have to import the good stuff to where
it used to originate. Why does Sweden put out bands like this when
in America we've forgotten how? All in all the Hellacopters prove that Rock N Roll is not dead.. it just moved to Europe. They used too much red gels in the lighting
so I ended up having to shoot black and white a bit. Lighting also
favored the bass player more than the guitarist, so I got more of the
bassist than usual. Overall the lighting wasn't all that great and
I spent too much time on the side of stage I normally don't favor,
just in time for a left handed guitarist.. talk about bad timing on
my part. I should have staked out my usual spot on stage left and gotten
the lead singer guitarist more. |
