Gang of Four at the Meridian October 11th 2005 There is something about seasoned bands that often takes a concert to the next level. Gang of Four is a fine example of that. I wasn't really into these guys back in their heyday, I really only knew a couple of their songs, but now I'm wondering if I should have given them more of a chance 20 years ago. If they put on a show back then like the one this night I really missed something I think. I caught myself several times just holding my camera at my side and just bobbing my head to the very primal beat. Then I'd remember to shoot after a few moments. I'd have to say that this is not some lame "we need the money" reunion tour where they con old fans into parting with some money while they fumble through a sad nostalgia thing that really could be done better by a younger cover band. This is a band that got together and said lets go out and do this but only if we can do it better than we ever have. If you happen on this site and the Gang of Four is touring through your town I say go check it out. I'm getting happier
with my concert photography. I'm getting a lot more "keepers"
per show now and I didn't do any post production to the stuff I'm posting
here, so that means I'm getting better at hitting the right settings
for better quality shots. (well at least I think so). I know it's hard
to tell sometimes with what I post, since I've generally reduced the
size of the pic to 600 pixels at it's longest side and compressed the
quality to 30% and believe me that makes a difference in what "you"
get to see. Sorry but my webspace is not infinite and.. well what do
you want for nothing anyway, sheesh. |
