Tracy Conover
Some nights are just magical.
The right sound, the right place and the right lighting. Dan Electros
provided all three the night Tracy Conover played. The were shooting a
film so they had these big softbox lights up which made for ideal shooting.
I probably could have stopped down my camera even farther than I did.
Dan's is also just one of my favorite venues around, good people, good
sound system, good atmosphere, but that's any given night there. This
night was extra special though in that the quality of music was just mind
boggling. Tracy puts on a show and plays a guitar like.. well. the metaphors
elude me at the moment. Trust me though it's powerful. Top it off with
some killer vocals and you spend an evening wondering what's wrong with
radio that they put Avril Lavigne songs on every 10 minutes when people
like Tracy Conover who have real talent aren't nearly as famous. Something
is really wrong with commercial music that's for damned sure. But I digress.
As I said, shooting this
was a dream. Except for that damned mic stand. One freaking mic on stage
and it manages to steal the spotlight in half my shots. Other than that
I had fun shooting this. I shot so much though that I haven't had time
to even do post processing on hardly any of it.. so most of these posted
here haven't been touched up at all. But hey what do you want for nothing
eh?
