The Church
I think I was in high
school when they had their "big song", so we're talking about
a band that has been around for over 20 years. Despite that, as they
point out they are not a "showbiz band". They were laid back
and casual and made the room a lot more intimate than any band ever
has that I've seen at the Meridian. There wasn't a lot of strong lighting
since after all they aren't a "showbiz band" I got adequate
shot though. Some even quite nice I think, given the circumstances.
I talked to the "official photographer" for the band a bit.
He was pretty easy going except he started giving me shit about shooting
a Sigma lens.. I just pointed to his Nikon D100 and said "you don't
have room to say anything", I love Canon vs Nikon rivalry.. it's
like Harley Davidson vs (insert bike company here). It doesn't have
to have any validity but everyone who has one or the other spends some
time and energy doing the my equipment is better than yours banter.
I'll also say this about The Church they were definately camera friendly
in the way that were aware of me and played to it on some occasions.
I really like that when they work with you. All in all I enjoyed the
show a lot. Worth the price of admission all the way.
