Bleeding
Through
with
Zao, Darkest Hour, Misery Signals, Flight Paris
I posted all these bands
together for one simple reason.. I couldn't tell them apart then when
I was listening to them and I sure as hell don't know by looking at the
pictures of them. Actually I don't think I got pics at all of the first
band.. The lighting sucked to the point that pictures where impossible.
The whole night for the most part was a crap shoot on lighting.. The stage
lights were off and on so fast the chances of something worth shooting
happening and you gettting to focus on it and them providing enough lighting
to even get the shot were not in the photographers favor. It's too bad
too cause all of these bands are so worth getting photos of. They are
animated, energetic, tattoo'd, works of art screaming to be photographed.
When you can get a shot of bands like this it's a hundred times more dynamic
than say your average band who just stands there and after 3 or 4 shots
they all begin to look alike. Nope, Bleeding Through especially is like
trying to photograph a dark fashion show on crystal meth. Lot's of movement,
lots of poses and character. Which really makes me lament the lack of
good lighting.
As for the music/bands..
well grindcore is not my thing really. The scores of black tshirt wearing
kids on the other totally dug it. I can't stand the guttaral yell thing
at all.. They put on energetic shows that are a blast to watch (shitty
lighting aside) but I'm old fashioned and like to understand lyrics or
at least realize there are lyrics. And hell I loved Fear, I could at least
catch some of what Lee Ving was singing about.
