Blaggards

As many of you know my tolerance for Celtic or Irish music is usually about 3 songs. After which it all sounds the same and I'm bored. It's odd considering how many of these bands I have friends in. Now the Blaggards could hardly be called "traditional" which is maybe why I actually like these guys past 3 songs. Their version of Folsom Prison just has to be heard to believed. I guess if you had to compare Blaggards to someone it'd probably be Flogging Molly. I could easily see them on the same bill.
That being said, if you can get the chance to see em, I think you'll like em. Hell even J the consumate Irish/Celtic critic didn't have much bad to say about about them. And coming from him that's almost praise. J's the kinda guy who'd watch the Chieftans and say "well I've seen better"

Photo comments: For some reason I was shooting for crap tonight. I wasn't totally thrilled with any of the 3 bands I shot. I got one really good pic I think of Blaggards 2005-11-03 3559.jpg  the rest was adequate at best. I don't understand why since the lighting was decent enough and I liked the subjects. I guess some nights are off nights.  On the bright side it gives me and excuse to see them again.
