Big Head Todd and the Monsters

The first show I shot at the Meridian and before I was the "house" guy was Big Head Todd. So almost a year has passed doing concert photography now, and I'm still loving it. BHTM is one of my favorite touring bands and it's always a pleasure for me to get to shoot em. Sadly though I didn't get as good of pictures as I would have liked. I tried but lighting was hard and there was a pretty packed house so moving around was very limited. The second negative thing was that they didn't sound as good this year as last year. Not the bands fault I don't think. More like the club/soundman still working out the kinks in the new Meridian sound system. It didn't suck but the sound wasn't what I thought it should be. Most people there wouldn't even notice and gauging by crowd response they didn't. Does this mean the show sucked? By no means! They still put on a better show and sound better than most anything you'll hear on the radio today. Hopefully I'll get many more chances to both see them live and shoot them in the future.
